DIY: Dip-dye/Ombré Studded Jumper

DIY Dip-dyed Jumper / White tank (F21) / Studded cross necklace (F21) / Cross tights (Topshop) / Black platform lace-ups (Mom's c:)

Please ignore my messy room LOL I'm still packing........

So I've been wanting to do this DIY for a long time now, and after recently seeing multiple photos of jumpers like this retailing for at least $40-$80 I finally just said OKAY I'M DOIN THIS MYSELF. It's literally the perfect comfy sweater to wear on lazy fall/winter days that doesn't make you look like a slouchy hobo.

I thrifted this white knit men's jumper for about $7, and then I bought a 100pk of cone studs and some Tulip-brand purple fabric dye. The total cost of this jumper?? 17 BUCKS. That's a steal compared to those whacked-out, overpriced ones online, and the best part is that I got to customize it to how I want it to look like. And I still have a bunch of cone studs left over to DIY some other projects too! This is definitely gonna be one of my go-to pieces for fall/winter.

Seems legit: DIY Dripping Chanel muscle tee

I love this DIY it just makes me laugh. My mom laughed the first time she saw it! She said it looked really cool though. I basically just printed out a giant dripping chanel logo and then made it into a stencil. Then I just painted over the stencil with white fabric paint. I did the same for the wording on the bottom. This black shirt is actually my Jonas Brothers concert t-shirt that I hacked the sleeves off of from waaaay back in the day like eighth grade! It's like a kids-size large so it's slightly form-fitting but oh so comfortable. Definitely one of my favorite shirts right now.

LAST SUMMER CONCERT OF 2012!! \m/

Truly Madly Deeply distressed yin yang crop top (UO) / DIY high-waisted Levi's / Studded cross necklace (F21) / Talon bracelet, Spiked bracelet (Ebay) / Gunmetal lattice bracelet, Brown leather bracelet (Gifted)

Saw Linkin Park, Incubus, and Mutemath live on Friday! Surprised there wasn't too much moshing because the amphitheater was literally PACKED. I shamelessly rocked out to my favorite songs and sang out all the lyrics. Such a great end to the Summer 2012 Concert season <3

Dupin it out: Zara Zip Parka

So I've been coveting the Zara Zip Parka with leather sleeves for what feels like AGES and after much searching I've come to the conclusion that they may never restock these babies ever again. Wah :( I couldn't even find it on the online store! I had to find it through an external link and it said every single size was oos. People have been making posts about them for weeks so I'm assuming they've been oos for a while. I'm leaving for college soon and I really just want to take one with me when I go! SO to satisfy my craving I delved a little further into the depths of google and found a pretty good dupe for the Zara Zip Parka!

BEHOLD NORDSTROM'S BLU PEPPER FAUX LEATHER SLEEVE UTILITY JACKET!

Basically the only differences between this and the Zara Zip Parka are that this jacket has less gold hardware (although it does have two gold zippers!) and it lacks the total "cool factor" oversized/flappy collar of the Zip Parka. However they both do have a cinched waist-line which gives a very feminine accent in contrast to this utilitarian jacket.

Nevertheless, the main look I was going for was a leather-sleeve, long, olive-colored jacket so I'm pretty happy with this! Hey it beats the Zara Zip Parkas being sold on Ebay for $400.............This Nordstrom's leather-sleeve utility jacket cost $75 including tax (Nordstrom's does free-shipping). Anyways, now I'm just waiting for this baby to come in the mail!

DIY: Studded distressed high-waisted denim shorts

Never thought a pair of shorts could ever have such a long name! This DIY could not be any simpler. I just bought a pair of high-waisted bell-bottom jeans from Savers for $7, hacked it off into shorts, continuously scratched my fabric scissors on each pant leg, washed it to create more distress, and then added some studs I got from StudsandSpikes.com for about $6 (that's including shipping). I really want to make another pair that's not distressed because to be honest I'm getting a little tired of that trend...plus it looks a lot more crisp without all the snags and rags. Perhaps next summer if it's still on trend? The PNW isn't much of a place for shorts....

Not enough buck for my bang?

Aw yes, the ubiquitous JC Litas and Lita Spikes....Tried on these lovelies and they are SO comfy for heels! I'd love to get these in taupe suede or black leather. They're the perfect platform heel for every day use! You can dress them up, and dress them down. I'm a sucker for lace-up shoes anyway.....Wasn't able to snag a pair that day though because I'll be starting college this fall and the expenses just keep piling up. SIGH. One day though.....One day.....Don't even worry. It's on my bucket list to own a pair of these! I think it's time to find a job again.......

hair porn

I went into the salon on the day of my cotillion with a picture that looked nothing like the end result shown above. Needless to say, I ended up leaving it to the professionals to interpret and after hours and HOURS of teasing with the janky stench of hair-spray forever lingering in the air, it came out like this! Absolutely loved it and it held up till even the next day!
